Fuqua Homes Corporation is proud they have been a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Energy Star® Homes Program since 1998.  This voluntary, market-based program is part of the family of Energy Star® Programs jointly sponsored by EPA and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

By building Energy Star® Homes, and offering them with preferred financing, builders increase their profitability by creating product differentiation and improved and increased customer satisfaction.  Homeowners who purchase Energy Star® homes realize lower costs on utility bills and improved interior comfort. Energy Star® homeowners are also well prepared for the future -- in addition to saving tens of thousands of dollars over the life of a mortgage, Energy Star® Homes can be positioned for higher resale value with less obsolescent building technologies and equipment.

With technical, marketing and communications support from the Energy Star® Homes Program, builders like Fuqua Homes Corporation are constructing homes that are at least 30% more energy efficient than the national Model Energy Code, which is equivalent to a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Five-Star Home.  Typical energy-saving features that characterize an Energy Star® Home include advanced and more insulation, tight construction, sealed ducts, high-performance windows, and high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment.

Energy Star® Homes Program Manager, Sam Rashkin commented, "The environmental leadership of companies like Fuqua Homes Corporation are helping to show that public/private partnerships can work and that everyone, from the builders and developers to the American consumers and home buyers can participate and benefit."
